Bangkok has many faces. There are around fifty different areas in the city. Many tourists, especially young backpackers, find their way to Khao San Road. This is where you go if you want to party crazy and cheap. Here you find one of many lively nightlife scenes in Bangkok, as well as close to temples.
If it’s your first time in Bangkok, I can recommend Silom or Sukhumvit. Silom is a business district with large green parks, while Sukhumvit offers great shopping, restaurants, and nightlife.
I have been to Bangkok several times and have stayed at beutifrul hotels in Silom, Sukhumvit, and the old part of the city near the river. Living in Bangkok Riverside is where I’ve had the best experiences, and it’s also where you’ll find many of the best luxury hotels.
I can recommend the Mandarin Oriental Hotel for its fantastic spa, The Davis for its outdoor pool, and Park Hyatt Bangkok for its restaurant. If you’re looking for an experience beyond the ordinary, you should also consider staying at Aman Nai Lert Bangkok — it’s expensive, but so worth it.
Aman is a hotel chain that is found in several locations around the world with artistically beautiful places for mindfulness living.
